Growing concern for the sustainability of metropolitan areas is leading to recognition of the value of urban edge spaces as issues of singular relevance. These fringe spaces could generate synergies between the city and the biophysical matrix that supports and surrounds it. This book contains the results of the last editions of Urban Design IV courses (ETSAB, Architecture Degree Studies, 2018–2021), focusing on the opportunities of these urban edges for the residential project.
