Step on step : BCN FES XAU 19-20: International Laboratory of Collaborative Architecture

Abstract

Since 2017 the NGO Al Karia and the cooperative entity Base A, supported by the town council of L’Hospitalet and the Centre de Cooperació per al Desenvolupament (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya), are collaborating with the town of Chaouen. From 2018 onwards the collaboration gets the shape of a workshop: the Step on Step laboratory, organized by Escola Tècnica Superior d´Arquitectura de Barcelona ETSAB. In two batches, 2018 and 2019, a total amount of 53 students, 5 teachers and 2 assistants, from Morocco and from Spain, have been working on the Medina (old town) of Chefchauen. This document compiles the outco me of the summer 2019 workshop.
