El Trienni Liberal a la Conca de BarberàCendrós, Gabriel Serra; Arnabat-Mata, Ramon; Albareda, Damià Amorós i; Vilà, Valentí Gual; Mayo, Octavi Vilà;El Trienni Liberal és un període de la història contemporània que transcorre entre 1820 i 1823 i que, malgrat la curta durada, va tenir una importància excepcional, ja que es van posar en pràctica les reformes liberals dissenyades a Cadis entre 1810 i 1814. Durant aquesta època es van dur a terme un conjunt de polítiques econòmiques, socials i de reorganització territorial i administrativa que volien posar l'Estat espanyol en sintonia amb el que s'estava impulsant en aquells moments en els estats liberals europeus més avançats. El Trienni Liberal va tenir un gran impacte a la comarca de la Conca de Barberà (desamortització monàstica i de les comandes religioses, fets bèl·lics, canvis administratius, tala descontrolada del bosc de Poblet, conflictes entre pobles, etc.). Els textos que conformen l'actual volum centren la seua atenció en aquest període tan poc estudiat de la nostra història.- Bombs over Biscay, Barcelona and Dresden: From the Spanish Civil War to the Second World WarThomàs, Joan Maria; Agirre, Jon Irazabal; Arnabat-Mata, RamonSometimes tragedies that have little to distinguish them from a wide range of similar events and which can make no claim to record numbers of casualties or destructive impact go down in history as fundamental and emblematic. This is the case of two of the airstrikes discussed in this volume: Barcelona and Dresden. Other tragedies, however, are sometimes obscured by circumstances elsewhere. This is the case of the “other Guernicas”: that is to say, the bombings of Otxandio, Durango and Elorrio in Biscay. They are good examples not only of the brutality inherent in all wars and of how methods of combat become increasingly barbaric as conflicts wear on but also of the way in which some circumstances push events to the forefront of history and make them emblematic.
